The following volunteer opportunities are offered through Catholic Charities Agency and the coordinator of English language instruction: ESOL lead teachers and qualified assistants.

A commitment of two to three hours per week is required. Some training is available, depending on the applicant’s prior experience.

The students are recently resettled refugees (new families) into our communities. The focus is learning English for employment and building skills to help foster independence in new cultural surroundings.

The classes will be held Tuesday through Friday, 4-6pm. The locations are the Elizabeth Ann Seton Center, 87 Beacon St. Florence and in Amherst at the Newman Center, at UMass.
