You may have noticed delays in the posting of your contributions and creditable service data in your MyTRS Member Self-Service (MSS) account.

Please be assured that your contributions and creditable service data, received to date by your district, are securely recorded in our system. However, this information will not appear in your MSS account until the associated report has completed a required, and sometimes lengthy, validation process.

What You Need to Know:

We have your contributions and creditable service data
Each month, school districts are required to submit and deposit contributions. The corresponding member contributions and creditable service data are recorded in our system. Before this information becomes visible in MSS, it must first be received from the district and undergo a validation process for all members within that district.

Please note that while most school districts are current with their deduction reporting requirements, some are not, due to various reasons. We are working closely with those districts to bring them into compliance.

Validation Process and Delays
Monthly deduction reports are audited and verified through a collaborative process between MTRS and the school districts. Because reports are submitted at the district level, an issue with one member’s record can delay finalization for the entire district. Delays may result from a variety of factors, including district size and the number of members, which increase the likelihood of necessary corrections. Once finalized, the related data will be reflected in your MSS account.

Please note: Delayed validation and visibility in MSS do not affect the interest earned on your account or the calculation of your retirement benefits.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
