MTRS offices in Charlestown and Springfield will be open from 9am to 3pm on Christmas Eve (12/24) and New Year’s Eve (12/31).

The new legislation, Chapter 134 of the Acts of 2022, allows eligible members who transferred into the MTRS from another Massachusetts contributory retirement system a final, one-time opportunity to make a definitive choice, either to:
  • participate in RetirementPlus, or,
  • opt-out of participating in RetirementPlus.
