Attempts to register employees who are new to the MTRS will not process

The MTRS discovered an error that prevents employers from registering new employees in MyTRS who have no previous MyTRS profile. Additionally, this will prevent employers from importing files that contain unregistered members.

At this time, do not attempt to register any employees who do not have an existing MyTRS profile. During registration, if an employee name DOES NOT prefill after entering their SSN, as explained in Tab 2 – Employee Registration of the Deduction Reporting guide, please do not continue with the registration process. If you choose to continue, an error message stating an “internal server problem” appears on the final step, preventing successful employee registration. If the employee’s name DOES appear after entering their SSN during the first step, a MyTRS profile exists, and you may continue with the registration process.
