Deduction reports must be imported BEFORE you update your payroll system for the new school year

Dear Payroll Official,

With the new school year right around the corner, we want to remind you to import your remaining 2025/2026 school year deduction reports into MyTRS before updating your payroll system for the new school year. Importing your remaining reports before making payroll updates will help ensure that your data is accurate and prevent unnecessary corrections later.

  • It is important to import your monthly deduction reports on time so that the data contained within is up to date. Importing and processing your reports late can lead to incorrect annual salaries, FTE% and position codes being included in the report. You would then be required to manually correct these values—possibly for multiple reports.
  • Save yourself time (and meet your statutory requirements) by importing your MTRS monthly deduction report in a timely manner at the beginning of every month.
    • Reminder: reports must be completed to “Pending” status by the 10th of each month.
    • Payments must not be late (even if you’re behind in reporting, payments are always due by the 10th of the following month).
  • Seeing a status of “Processed with Errors” on one of your 2025/2026 imported files? Please refer to Tab 6: Correct Errors During the Import Process (pg 69) of our Deduction Reporting in MyTRS guide for directions on how to correct these errors.
